There are many species of hummingbirds. The smallest is only about 5 centimeters (2 inches) long. The biggest is about 21 centimeters (8 inches) long. Some hummingbirds are among the most vividly colored birds in the world.
Hummingbirds have a muscular, compact body and small feet.
